Presented here in this limited LP edition are 18 studio tracks, consisting of a selection of those sensational but underrated recordings B.B. King made at his peak for the Bihari brothers’ Kent label between 1958 and 1962 (mostly in Los Angeles). This set contains a number of B.B.’s lesser-known songs which are just as enjoyable as the classics of that period. It is our intention that this compilation will bring more attention to the many great recordings in B.B. King’s catalogue of Kent 45s, which are deserving of greater recognition. Highlights include blues staples like “The Worst Thing in My Life,” “Sugar Mama,” and Roy Brown’s “Beautician Blues,” as well as King’s first single for Kent, “You Know I Go for You,” and the song that this collection was named after, “Blue Shadows,” among others.
