Van Cliburn was an American pianist who became a national hero when he won the inaugural International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow during the Cold War in 1958. This album won the 1st Classical Grammy Award, and it’s the 1st classical album to go platinum. The sleeve artwork has been restored from original photographs, and the legendary recording has been pressed on 180 gram vinyl.
