El nuevo álbum homónimo de Shawn Mendes, Shawn, fue escrito y grabado durante los últimos dos años por Mendes, en muchas sesiones y lugares, junto con un pequeño grupo de colaboradores, entre ellos Scott Harris, Mike Sabath, Eddie Benjamin, Nate Mercereau, Ethan Gruska, Amy Allen y Chris Thile. Como su quinto álbum de estudio, es Shawn en su faceta más íntima y honesta, y se lanzará el 18 de octubre a través de Island Records.
